ScotRail has warned passengers of potential disruption to rail journeys over Christmas, as staff members are set to walk out over ongoing pay disputes.

Members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) will be taking industrial action against Network Rail, which will result in ScotRail services being impacted.

This is because Network Rail Scotland signallers and maintenance staff, who are in safety-critical roles, will be on strike.

ScotRail is currently "working through" its timetable plans for the days that the strikes have been arranged. Several strike dates across December and January have been arranged, but according to the RMT, the union has announced it will put forward a pay deal to its members to reject Network Rail's latest pay offer of 4 per cent.The electronic ballot will be open until noon on Monday December 12.Here's everything you need to know about the current scheduled strike action, and the days it will be taking place.At the moment, all of the scheduled strike action will go ahead in Scotland.December 2022January 2023The RMT also announced that further strike action will take place from between 6pm on Christmas Eve, December 24, through to 5.59am, December 27.
