A mum’s life was saved by a fridge freezer after an explosion wrecked her home. Retired firefighter Jeff Davies, 50, found Jess Williams wedged in a gap behind the appliance.
The 31-year-old was rushed to hospital with children Reuben, five, and Elliot, four. All are said to be critical but stable.
The suspected gas blast destroyed the terraced house in Seven Sisters, near Neath, South Wales. Rescuer Jeff praised the “great community effort” to save the family.
He said: “Normally the wise thing is to stand back and let others come but obviously there’s always a delay. “Jess was saved by a fridge freezer that was blown alongside her.
