EXCLUSIVE: Fremantle has struck a multi-year output deal for Jamie Oliver shows in Germany with RTL. The agreement will see the Bertelsmann-owned network become the home of the celebrated TV chef’s portfolio of content in Germany, handing exclusive rights for pay-TV, free TV, SVoD and AVoD.
Fremantle said the move will “redefine the cookery television landscape for German audiences.” The German premieres of several Jamie Oliver cooking formats will air on pay TV channel RTL Living, starting with Jamie Cooks the Mediterranean next month.
Formats are also set to premiere on free TV platform VOXup, while further specials and Oliver events are in discussion for the flagship channels of RTL Deutschland.
On RTL+, the shows will be available for streaming via AVoD and SVoD. The deal also opens up opportunities for cross-promotion, Fremantle added, including in digital and printed media and publishing of Oliver’s books.
