Freddie Flintoff binned off from Australian Take Me Out due to how he spoke

The Aussies know Freddie Flintoff is a legend when it comes to a great delivery. But the ex-England cricketer apparently lost out on hosting the Australian version of Take Me Out because of a different sort of delivery – the way he speaks.

The star’s Top Gear co-presenter Paddy McGuiness says Freddie, 43, filmed a pilot of the show Down Under but failed to impress the bosses.

Paddy, 47, said: “Flintoff did the pilot... hilarious. It didn’t get commissioned, obviously. “He was like ‘Hello there... welcome to Take Me Out’... ‘Erm, a little bit more flow there, Fred’.” Paddy, who presented the dating show on ITV for 10 years and whose catchphrases included “no likey no lighty”, said he was first to be asked to host the Australian version.
