Frankie Boyle has revealed he missed out on the chance to crack America because of his fear of flying.The comedian said he had been offered writing jobs in the US but couldn’t travel because of the phobia.He told how he was terrified of dying in a plane crash and just the sight of an aircraft makes him sick.Boyle, 48, said he did take one transatlantic flight to New York but took so many Valium tablets to calm his nerves that he nearly died.The comic, who presents Frankie Boyle’s New World Order on BBC2, admitted the fear had held him back in his career.He said: “If I see a plane on screen I feel ill.
