Four men have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape of two British girls in Italy, police say.Police in Matera in the country’s Basilicata region, where the alleged attack took place, said four men reportedly between the ages of 19 and 23 have been arrested, while a further three suspects are under investigation and one is yet to be identified.
The attack is said to have taken place at a party in the town of Marconia di Pisticci while the girls were on holiday. Police said a gang beat and raped the girls, who reported the attack at around 3.30am the next morning.Surveillance footage realised by police shows one of the girls being pushed by a group of males towards a dark corner behind the villa at around midnight on Monday.
