There are some early signs of dementia that may even be noticeable before loss of memory, according to a GP. Dementia is a progressive condition impacting a person's brain function, resulting in a decline of cognitive skills - such as memory and reasoning - as well as speech and emotions over time.
Despite there being no cure, it is important to diagnose the condition quickly to allow a treatment plan and medications to be put in place in order to best manage symptoms.
And according to one GP, there are a handful of early warning signs to look out for that may indicate the onset of dementia.Many are aware that memory problems may be a warning sign.
However, according to Dr Johannes Uys, from Broadgate General Practice, said: “In some cases, physical symptoms can also appear before memory loss in dementia", reports the Daily Express.
