Are fleas developing resistance and what can I do? A. There is no solid evidence that fleas have developed resistance to licensed products, especially ones obtained from your vet.
In spite of this fleas have become a much bigger problem in the last few years. A publication this year reported a quarter of cats attending veterinary clinics were discovered to have fleas, unknown to their owners.
The figure for dogs was one in seven. The publication identified that just over 20 per cent of the cats and 35 per cent of the dogs had been treated with a flea product that was currently in date.
