Former Premier League referee Keith Hackett believes Manchester United should have had a penalty this weekend, following Kurt Zouma's challenge on Cristiano Ronaldo.
The United superstar looked to be clean through having sneaked in behind the Hammers backline, only for Zouma to collide with the Reds forward inside the penalty area.
Referee Jon Moss waved away such claims, with Ralf Rangnick's side leaving it late to snatch all three thanks to Marcus Rashford's late winner.
And former FIFA-listed official Hackett was left bewildered as to why referee Moss did not point to the spot for a foul on star man Ronaldo. “I thought this was a penalty kick,'' began the 77-year-old, speaking exclusively to Football Insider. “Ultimately, at the end of the day, referees have got to be consistent with pulling and holding inside the penalty area. “The defender has got his left arm under the left arm of Ronaldo, that’s not football it’s rugby. “Ronaldo goes to the ground and the reason he is theatrical, and this is what is happening in the game, is because he won’t get a penalty unless he’s theatrical.
