A former NHS doctor has appeared in court accused of manslaughter over the death of a patient at the Royal Oldham Hospital. Isyaka Mamman, 78, is charged with manslaughter following an incident at the hospital.
Shahida Parveen, 48, died following a medical procedure in September 2018. READ MORE:Peak District restaurant devastated after malicious prankster books out every Sunday table Mr Mamman appeared at Manchester Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on Tuesday morning.
He did not enter a plea, and the case was adjourned until May while further evidence is collected. Prosecuting, Andrew Thomas QC said: "This is a case of medical gross negligence, and understandably the defence would clearly want expert evidence of their own in order to advise Dr Mamman in relation to such a complex matter." Manchester's courts are some of the busiest in the country with a vast array of cases heard every week.
