Ali Bastian is really excited to announce she is 20 weeks pregnant with her second child. But as well as being a time for celebration, there have been some worries along the way.The 40 year old, who also shares daughter Isla with husband David O'Mahony, revealed she had a scare early on in her pregnancy. "We had a bit of a bumpy start because I had some early bleeding, so I was sent to the early pregnancy unit," the former Hollyoaks and Doctors actress explained. "They put me on progesterone because I’d had a miscarriage in the past [in 2018, at five weeks, before getting pregnant with Isla]." "I’m very grateful the clinic did that for me.

I had a scan and then had what felt like a long two-week wait before having another, and it was an anxious time." Luckily the star is in good health and the couple are preparing to welcome another addition to their family.

Ali, who has had cravings for Taramasalata and can't stand the cold or smell of hot during her pregnancy, revealed the sweet moment she told two year old Isla she will be a big sister. "“Isla came into our room one morning and we were having snuggles," she recalled. "I said to David over her head, ‘I think we should tell her now’ and he agreed. “I said, ‘Have you noticed that mummy’s tummy has been getting bigger?’ and she said ‘Yes!’ I said, ‘I’ve got a baby in my tummy.’ And then there was this big smile across her face. “I wish we had captured that, it was magical, I’ll never forget it.

She understood. I said, ‘You are going to be a big sister’ and her face lit up." Ali and David are excited to become parents again and have nothing but praise for each other when it comes to raising a child.
