Former Glasgow Uni scientist fighting for life in coma after organs shut down in Mexico

diseases specialist Hector Diaz Albiter fell ill in the city of Villahermosa on January 27. He suffered acute pancreatitis, fluid in his lungs and an Acute Kidney Injury.He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and developed cardiac problems.Medics placed him in a medically induced coma in a bid to save his life after his organs began to shut down.He is currently on dialysis.His devastated Scots wife Morvyn, who moved to his native country with him in 2018, says when the couple arrived at their local hospital they were told they had no beds left.She was forced to move Hector to a private health facility but his health insurance will only cover the cost of his medical care for one week.She is desperately trying to raise £50,000 to pay.
