Celtic academy graduate Jamie Lindsay can't wait for the Championship season after extending his stay at Rotherham United. The midfielder - who hails from Rutherglen and was raised in Larkhall - helped Paul Warne's side earn promotion to England's second tier despite an injury-hit campaign. His future was in some doubt as his contract approached its expiry date but he's now committed his future until 2024.Lindsay started his career at Celtic and joined Rotherham in 2019 after a strong stint at Premiership club Ross County. Now attentions have turned to the new campaign and sustaining the Millers as a Championship club.
He told club media : “I’m delighted to extend my stay. I’m pleased to get it sorted and I’m now looking forward to the new season. “The gaffer and all the coaching staff have helped me since I came in, it’s an exciting time to be at the football club."I’ve got two young boys, one at school and the other at nursery, so my family is settled in the area.
I knew fairly on at the end of the season that it was going to happen and obviously, I’m thrilled to get it sorted."We’re not going into the league to try and make up the numbers.
We know how the disappointment felt last time and we want to give ourselves the best possible chance of achieving our aims.”Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
