Forensic officers scour Paisley flats amid attempted murder probe

Police have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was found unresponsive at a block of flats in Paisley. Officers were called to George Street in the town at 11.55pm on Friday.

The 40-year-old man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. A 31-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident.Forensic officers remain at the scene on Saturday as a probe continues.

The entrance into a block of flats has been cordoned off with a police officer pictured inside the building, reports Glasgow Live.

Detective inspector Gordon Smith said: “Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information which may assist with the investigation to get in touch.“If you have doorbell cameras, private CCTV or a dashcam, please review your footage and bring anything of significance to our attention.“We would also like to speak to those who assisted officers in locating the injured man.
