The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Italy and the Vatican City over concerns surrounding political demonstrations.
The Italian authorities have increased their security around "some Jewish community sites", the government department said. British travellers are being advised to "stay away" from demonstrations and "stay aware" of their surroundings.
The Foreign Office website states: "Italian authorities have increased security around some Jewish community sites due to events in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Stay aware of your surroundings, stay away from demonstrations and follow the advice of local authorities."
