Glasgow's Necropolis double up as Gotham for the new movie The Batman. Back in February last year, just before the national lockdown, scenes were shot over the city for the new blockbuster which stars Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz and Colin Farrell and at the time, movie buffs flocked to the Victorian cemetery to catch a glimpse of the film in the making.
Filming also extended by the Glasgow Cathedral and on to streets such as Wishart Street as well as the Bridge of Sighs into the cemetery.Rumour also has it that the Glasgow Cathedral could be 'blown up' as part of an action packed scene in the movie, following whispers that a huge replica of it had been constructed in a former aircraft hanger as part of filming in England.
