Six fire engines were called to a house fire in Rochdale this morning. Fire crews remain at Wesley Close in Smallbridge after being called to the scene at around 8am on Saturday (February 19) following reports of a property on fire.
When fire engines from Rochdale, Heywood, Littleborough, Chadderton, Hollins and Whitefield fire stations arrived at the scene, they found the two-storey house alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire using a hose reel and an aerial platform. Crews then damped down the scene and checked the surrounding properties for any further damage.
Crime Scene Investigators from Greater Manchester Police and search dogs from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
