Foodies Festival to visit Glasgow for first time as two Scottish dates announced

The biggest touring gourmet food festival in the UK is coming to Scotland and it's added a second date this year with a first-time visit to Glasgow.Dubbed the ‘Gastro-Glasto’, Foodies Festival will once again be returning to Edinburgh, with a trip to Glasgow's Rouken Glen Park thrown in for good measure this August.

The festival features a star-studded line-up of MasterChef champions, TV chefs and personalities, Michelin starred chefs and headline music acts.Names featuring at the exciting event include MasterChef: The Professionals 2021 champion Daniel Lee; MasterChef 2021 champion Tom Rhodes; top chef Liam Rogers, from two Michelin starred restaurant, Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles; and stars of MasterChef, Sarah Rankin and Laura Michael.Comedian Tim Vine will also be taking to the stage in the Cake and Bake Theatre, whipping up some delicious desserts with a side order of humour, ahead of his comedy show ‘Breeeep!' at the Edinburgh Festival.The Festival will arrive at Inverleith Park in the capital on August 5 and will run until the 7th before heading to Glasgow's Rouken Glen Park in Giffnock from the 12th to the 14th.Scotland’s National Chef, Gary Maclean, chef-patron of Creel Caught in Edinburgh, will be joined by fellow Scottish chef Dean Banks of The Pompadour in Edinburgh and Haar in St Andrews.Speaking about Foodies, Gary Mclean, said: "Being part of Foodies this year is going to be so much fun, getting out and getting face to face with the public again is going to be very special, I am also excited to see and meet and learn from the incredible line up of chefs who have kept us going throughout lockdowns.
