A charity which gets essential shopping supplies to older people in Stirling is closing in on its 50,000th local delivery as it marks a decade of making a difference.Food Train works to improve the lives of people aged 65 and over by ensuring they do not go without the groceries they need to eat well and live well.As well as its award-winning shopping service, the charity works more widely to tackle loneliness among older people through its Meal Makers and Phone Friends befriending services.Since November 2011, Food Train’s team of volunteers in the region - who added Clackmannanshire to their area in 2019 - has made just over 48,000 deliveries.In the decade since its launch, it is estimated that the charity has supported in excess of 1000
