Foo Fighters have shared a message hinting that they are unknown band the Churnups set to play the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury later this month. The band told fans in a social media update that it has been “good to see you, churning up these emotions together” at recent shows.When Glastonbury published its full line-up earlier this month, The Churnups were listed as playing third from the top of the bill on the Friday of the event, before Royal Blood and Arctic Monkeys. Foo Fighters have confirmed that their long-awaited UK tour is set to take place in 2024.The upcoming tour will be in support of their latest LP, ‘But Here We Are’, which arrived last week ( June 2) and marked their 11th studio album. It also marks their first album without longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins, following his death while on tour in Columbia last March.Now, in a new update shared on their official website, Dave Grohl and co.

Foo Fighters and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are currently in a neck-and-neck race to reach the Number One spot on the UK album charts this week.Both acts released their latest LPs — ‘But Here We Are’ and ‘Council Skies’ — last Friday (June 2) and as it stands, it is too close to call which one will reach the peak position on the Official Album Chart by the end of this week.Currently at the midweek mark, Noel Gallagher has surpassed the American rockers and stands as the UK’s best-selling album with his fourth solo album with High Flying Birds. That being said, the two remain almost neck and neck, as just 200 units separate them from first and second position.The victory would no doubt mark an important milestone for Foo Fighters, as ‘But Here We Are’ marks their first full-length LP since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins in March last year.

The stage is set for one of the closest races for Number 1 in recent memory, as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Foo Fighters gear up for a tough battle on the Official Albums Chart.

Foo Fighters have released ‘The Teacher’, the final single from their upcoming 11th album ‘But Here We Are’.The 10-minute-long track is the longest song the band have ever recorded, and sees Dave Grohl begin with an understated guitar intro, and ultimately build up to blaze of audio overload. It also references the passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins and Grohl’s mother, Virginia.Directed by multimedia artist Tony Oursler, the single’s accompanying video is a short film featuring emotive imagery and home videos from the band.The director came to Foo Fighters’ attention via his work with David Bowie – specifically his video for Bowie’s landmark January 2013 single ‘Where Are We Now?’.‘The Teacher’ follows the band’s previously released singles ‘Rescued’, ‘Under You’ and ‘Show Me How’.

The Foo Fighters have revealed that they have a new drummer joining the band, a year after Taylor Hawkins’ death. Josh Freese, who has been performing with the band at tribute concerts in memory of Taylor, has previously played drums for The Offspring, Sting, Paramore, Lana Del Rey, Rob Zombie, Bruce Springsteen, A Perfect Circle, Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, the Vandals and Weezer, among others. In recent months, speculation regarding who the Foo Fighters’ new drummer would be has been rife, with Josh and Rufus Taylor of The Darkness both rumoured to be taking on the role.
