Fontaines D.C. have announced their second album, to be released just over a year after their debut. The Dublin post-punk band will released A Hero's Death on July 31, with the title track available now.
The music video to the lead single has also been released and features Game of Thrones actor Aidan Gillen. A Hero's Death is the follow-up to 2019's Dogrel, which peaked at Number 4 on the Official Irish Albums Chart and was the biggest vinyl album of last year by an Irish group.
Dogrel was also nominated for the 2019 RTÉ Choice Music Prize. Fontaines D.C. previously revealed that the record would be inspired by the Beach Boys, and in a new statement released today, the group said the collection is "a necessary reaction to assure ourselves
