A flight was forced to suddenly divert and land at Manchester Airport on Sunday (September 24) after a passenger suffered a medical emergency on board.
The Discover Airlines flight, from Frankfurt to Calgary, departed shortly before 9am and was heading to the Canadian city before it diverted over Scotland.
It was reported that an 'emergency' alert had been issued mid-flight. The airline has now confirmed the reason for the diversion was due to a medical emergency involving one of the passengers on board. The flight path, according to FlightRadar24, showed how the pilot had suddenly turned, flying south over parts of the UK before eventually landing at Manchester Airport at around 11.20am.
