Five serving Metropolitan Police officers have died from Covid in the last 15 days, the force has announced. Commissioner Cressida Dick said she was "deeply saddened by the news".
The officers who lost their lives to the disease include an as yet unnamed custody sergeant who passed away in the last 24 hours and constable Sukh Singh who died yesterday, the force said.
The other three victims of the virus are constable John Fabrizi, who died on January 25, constable Michael Warren, who died on January 19 and PCSO Chris Barkshire, who died on January 11.
