Five men charged in connection with vehicle thefts in Greater Manchester and Cheshire

Five men are set to appear in court after being charged in connection with vehicle thefts. Three men from Rochdale will appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court tomorrow (May 16), along with two defendants from Oldham and Longsight.

All five are charged with conspiracy to steal and going equipped, in connection with a series of alleged thefts in Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

The thefts are alleged to have taken place between April 18 and May 13 this year. The five defendants are Michael Andrews, 32, of Bingley Road, Rochdale; John Langley, 28, of Moss Street, Rochdale; Shaun Arif Andrews, 28, of Geneva Terrace, Rochdale; Faizal Hussain, 28, of Shaw Road, Oldham, and; Nazish Shakeel, 29, of Northmoor Road, Longsight. A spokesperson for the force added: "They were arrested by officers from GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit on May 13, 2022, with the investigation carried out by officers from GMP's Trafford district. "The offences involving the thefts of Ranger Rovers are alleged to have happened across the Greater Manchester and Cheshire areas between April 18, 2022, and May 13, 2022."
