A hotel receptionist was battered to death with a blunt instrument while working a night shift, an inquest heard. Victim Marta Vento died at the scene of the attack in the lobby area of the Travelodge in Bournemouth, Dorset, last week.
The 27-year-old, originally from Valencia in Spain, had started working for the chain three months earlier, and is claimed to have been working on her own on the night she was killed.
Ms Vento died as a result of head injuries, and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7.30am last Wednesday. Police arrested a 32-year-old man on suspicion of her murder after he walked into Bournemouth police station to report the incident.
