These are the first pictures of a five-year-old girl found stabbed to death next to a woman "lying in a pool of blood". A murder investigation has been launched after Sayagi Sivanantha died in hospital and her mum Sutha Karunanantham, 35, is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Neighbour Elsa Gonzales, 47, found the pair inside a flat in Monarch Parade in Mitcham, south London, on Tuesday afternoon. She described hearing screaming and crying coming from the flat next door, where a family-of-four from Sri Lanka lived.
