A dad-of-five who died after his car burst into flames on a Scots road has been named locally as Gary Sim. Emergency services scrambled to Beith Road in Johnstone at around 2am on Saturday, November 9, following reports of a one-vehicle crash.
The car was found ablaze and the 53-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but he sadly passed away a short time later.The avid Rangers fan leaves behind five children.
His son, Gary, said: "I love you dad, you were my best friend. I need you back."His daughter Chandler, said: "I love you dad, I can’t believe this."Daughter Chloe added: "He’ll be looking down on us so proud and laughing at our antics together."A number of tributes have been left for Gary at the scene of the crash.
Rangers scarves, strips and flags left by supporters honouring the Gers-fanatic.Friend Danielle Fergusson added: "You were the nicest soul with a heart of pure gold.
