First memorial event for Covid bereaved families could be axed due to lack of funding

The first public memorial event allowing families bereaved by coronavirus to honour their loved ones has been plunged into doubt - because organisers have failed to raise the funding they need to put it on.

The Candlelight 4Covid event is due to place on June 23 with a socially-distanced lantern parade and ceremony with live music in a park in Milton Keynes.

The memorial is being organised by the Covid19 Families UK group, which supports over 3,500 people who have lost someone during the pandemic, both through Covid and other causes.
