Young Sheldon star Wendie Malick in her new film Mother of All Shows has been released. The upcoming musical feature follows a woman named Liza (played by Melissa D’Agostino), who is struggling to deal with the imminent death of her estranged mother, Rosa (Malick).
In an attempt to work through her turbulent past and cope with what lies ahead, Liza retreats to a '70s variety show in her head, which is hosted by none other than Rosa, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Related: Young Sheldon season 6 premiere includes very old Big Bang Theory throwbackHere, Rosa "leads an all-singing, all-dancing cast of players from Liza’s past and present", who will perform some original songs written by D'Agostino, David James Brock and Rebecca Everett.
As well as starring in Mother of All Shows, D’Agostino also directed the film and co-wrote the script alongside Brock. Other cast members include Ann Pornel, Darryl Hinds, Juan Chioran, Phil Luzi, Tara Consoli, Michael Miranda and Trevor Martin. Season seven is set to begin production this summer, but according to executive producer Steve Holland, this outing could very well be the show's last. "We’ve certainly started to talk about it," he told TVLine. "When you’re in the middle of a season, it’s such a grind that we haven’t had too many in-depth conversations.
