Ahead of this year’s Valentine’s Day, Channel 4 dating sensation First Dates pulled out all the stops to host a special edition of the popular show, entitled: Be My Valentine - including a very familiar famous face.
Among the lovelorn singles hoping to find love was Loose Women panelist India Willoughby, who famously made history as the show’s first ever transgender co-host in 2017.
The 58 year old star also made a name for herself on Good Morning Britain and on Celebrity Big Brother, and enjoyed a long and successful career as an ITV news reporter in the North East and Cumbria prior to her transition.
As part of her job, India revealed she was used to plenty of changes and often adapted to the news cycle - but dating sadly, was one area in which she was clearly struggling. “As a journalist I’m meeting new people every day, but dating is scary!” Explained the star, before admitting she hadn’t even been kissed since her transition, something which led her to cheekily liken herself to a brand new car as she quipped: "I'm a brand new car that's never been driven." For her date, India was paired with Gareth, a driving instructor - who appeared to initially hit it off with the broadcaster as the pair shared their views about being declared “woke” and staying on top of the news agenda.
