Blackburn’s Community Shop celebrated its first birthday with customers celebrating by sharing the cake.The Community Shop is open once on a Thursday evening from 4pm until 5.30pm.The majority of the work is carried out by young volunteers who have shown commitment and dedication to the shop over the last twelve months -unloading food deliveries, setting up and subsequently putting away stock and serving the customers each week.Some of the young people volunteer in numerous initiatives in Blackburn but all strive towards making a positive impact to their local community.They currently have a 7.5 hour vacancy to co-ordinate the shop and anyone interested can contact projectmanager.cab@gmail.com for further information.
