A firefighter has decided to foster a dog who he saved after finding her lying "lifeless" under a bed while responding to a fire.
Jamie Trew found Millie the Jack Russell during a fire on the ground floor of a flat in Newham on July 28. Emergency services were called to the address around 9pm, where firefighters found a woman being treated by medics outside.
She told them her beloved dog was missing so the firefighters began searching for her. Shortly after, the lifeless body of Millie was found under a bed and she was given oxygen and water.
After 10 minutes she regained consciousness, BBC reports. The dog is now being looked after by Mr Trew while the owner recovers.
