Fire crews smash car window to break free dog trapped in Edinburgh as temperatures rise

Edinburgh Supercentre carpark in the capital at around midday on July 17, reports Edinburgh Live. It's understood a panicked owner had accidentally locked their pet inside the car.

The incident happened on one of the hottest days of the year so far in Scotland as the country sizzled in temperatures above 20 degrees.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed the desperate owner had called for help after they left their keys in the car and couldn’t get back in.When crews arrived on the scene the car was still running and a window had to be smashed to rescue the dog and retrieve the keys.An eyewitness said: “It was right outside the front door of Asda.“I don’t know where the owner of the car was.“They’d smashed the driver's side window.
