Many Brits will be receiving their first paycheck of the new year in the coming days. However, many may notice a slight change on their payslips which could result in some extra cash.

It comes after the main rate of National Insurance was dropped from 12 per cent to 10 per cent on Saturday, January 6. Chancellor Jeremy Hunt previously claimed this change would save the average worker on a £35,400 yearly wage £450 in the coming tax year.
