Iconic filmmaker Robert Downey Sr. has sadly passed away at the age of 85 after a five-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
According to his wife Rosemary Rogers, the director passed away in his sleep at their New York City home where the couple lived for the past ten years.
The father of Robert Downey Jr., Robert Downy Sr was a leading figure in independent cinema throughout the 60s, creating low-budget movies that often made sharp cultural observations.
Aside from being a filmmaker, he was also an actor, writer and producer. His most prominent acting roles include Magnolia, Boogie Nights and To Live and Die in LA.
