Fernando Alonso is poised for a sensational return to F1 after reportedly agreeing terms with former team Renault. The two-time world champion quit the sport in 2018, claiming he had "achieved in F1 more than I dreamed of and it's time to achieve bigger things outside F1".

Since leaving F1, Alonso has had two failed attempts at winning the Indianapolis 500, and is entered for the 2020 edition in August.
