Stargazers are in for a treat this month, with February's night sky offering a spectacular array of celestial events. The first month of 2025 saw Mars at its best and brightest, a visit from a once-in-a-life time comet and a six-strong planetary parade.

February has a lot to live up to, but stargazers will be pleased to hear the upcoming month is bursting with must-see astronomical events.

There’s no shortage of night sky events to admire, so here are just a few dates for your diary – plus when and how to spot these must-see moments for sky-watchers.

Saturn is famous for its spectacular ring system that surrounds the gas giant. The rings can be spotted through a telescope or a good pair of binoculars, but stargazers will have to say a sad farewell to Saturn’s rings this month as they will disappear in March!
