Father Ted actor Joe Rooney was not prepared for the sudden death of his co-star Rynagh O'Grady earlier this week as he believed she was in 'great form' and had 'no major health issues'.
Actress Rynagh, 67, was best known for playing the role of shop owner Mary O'Leary in the Channel 4 sitcom before she died on Tuesday.
Comedian Joe has since spoken out about his good friend Rynagh, who he stayed in touch with since the series finished filming.
Joe says the last time he spoke to the tragic actress was for a podcast which is yet to air. "We actually interviewed her for a podcast we haven't put out," he told the Irish Mirror. "Myself and Pat McDonnell would watch each episode and talk about it and interview the actors from the episodes." H
