A murder investigation has been launched after a 34-year-old man was fatally stabbed in a Lancashire market town. The police were called to New Market Street in Colne yesterday (March 31), where they found paramedics treating a man with serious injuries.
The victim, named today as Richard Chamberlain, sadly passed away shortly afterwards. A 44 year old man from Colne was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder and he is still being held for questioning.
Richard's family is being supported by specialist officers and the police have said "our thoughts are with them at this distressing time".
A post-mortem examination is taking place today (April 1) to find out how Richard died, reports Lancs Live.
