Christopher Picken, 49, was stopped by police on December 13 last year, Manchester Magistrates' Court heard. He was operating a green John Deere tractor on Dewhirst Road near Rydings Farm in Wardle, Rochdale, it was said.
Mr Picken entered a not guilty plea to a charge of driving a motor vehicle while above the alcohol limit.
