Fans of Channel 5's sun-soaked drama The Wives, featuring the talents of soap legends Tamzin Outhwaite, Jo Joyner, and Angela Griffin, were left disappointed after the network unexpectedly cancelled the show.
Despite its solid ratings, viewers appeared bewildered that the unsettled storylines which played out over six episodes would remain forever unresolved as a result.The cast reportedly received the surprising news via phone calls last week, despite the scripts for more episodes already being written.
