Coronation Street star Bill Fellows is reported to have quit the soap as chef Stu Carpenter.The actor, who plays the ex-jailbird in the ITV soap, will bow out later this year after three years of dramatic storylines.
According to reports, Bill signed a three year contract when he joined the show and decided early on that this was the time he wanted to do on the soap.
A source told The Sun: “Three years is a long time to spend playing one role and while Bill has loved his time at Corrie, he’s ready to move on. “He told bosses earlier this year that he would like to leave at the end of his three-year contract and they have crafted an exciting exit storyline for him. “He will still be on screen for some time yet but it gave him a chance to say yes to a number of jobs he was keen to do later this year.” Bill joined Coronation Street as Stu in 2021.
Stu was introduced when Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) encountered him while living on the streets.The character has gone on to feature in a number of key storylines over his three years in Weatherfield.
