Family pays tribute to man who died after being assaulted in Longsight

The family of a 'beloved brother and son' who sadly died after he was assaulted in Longsight have paid tribute to him. Police were called by hospital staff at 11.30am on May 3 to concerns for a man with serious injuries.

Officers attended and following enquiries established that the man had been assaulted on Hathersage Road, Longsight at around 11am.

Sadly, despite the best efforts of medical staff, 35-year-old Abdi Ali from Longsight passed away on May 11. A 28-year-old man has been charged in relation the assault and will appear at the crown court next month.
