The family of a missing Celtic fan who vanished in Lanzarote say fresh CCTV has been found by Spanish police.Gary Watson Shearer, 53, from Renfrew, vanished just hours after he arrived in the country alone to celebrate St Patrick's Day on March 17.

He checked into his hotel in Puerto del Carmen before heading to Bar 67.The last known CCTV of Gary showed him lying unconscious in a doorway near the bar at 1.30am the following morning. The last update given by the authorities in June said they were conducting a fresh search in the area where Gary went missing. But now his family say Spanish police have discovered previously unseen footage of Gary with another man, which officials intend to release.

Darcie Shearer, Gary's niece, told the Record that family were contacted by police last Friday but are yet to hear anything more."It could be a breakthrough but we are still no further ahead since my uncle Gary first went missing," she said. "We hope it will lead to answers for us because we have been told so many times that there is no footage. "The police contacted us on Friday to say the footage showed Gary with another man and they are unsure if this is a brief encounter or more.

They were looking to get it released to the press."We've since asked when the footage was taken so we can establish if it a new last sighting but we've heard nothing since."It's be a very long time for us all and it's getting much harder when we don't have a clear understanding of what happened. "It's been the hardest months of our lives, we are a very close family and we just can't make sense of anything.
