A family was ordered to turn off their Christmas light display due to complaints they cause light pollution. Each year the Stonier family turn their home into a festive winter wonderland with a whopping 7,000 lights and numerous inflatables, as they have done for the last 23 years.
They love to see excited children flock to see their decorations on their property in Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire, after spending £10,000 on it over the years.
But Michael Stonier, 21, said he was left stunned when they got a letter from social housing bosses trying to impose restrictions on this year's lights.
In the letter, it was claimed that some neighbours had complained about light pollution caused by the display, which was also keeping locals awake at night.
