A family living on council estate have won a detached home for £1. Claire Reynolds and Ben Binks, both 34, decided to go all in when they saw a detached home in Ossett, near Wakefield, as the prize in a raffle.

The couple bought £100 of tickets in the hopes of having a home of their own for the first time, Yorkshire Live reported. Now Claire, Ben and their three kids Alfie, 15, Riley, 13 and Hudson, two, are due to move into the £270,000 property, which is less than 15 minutes from their current place.

They also will pick up the keys to a plush £42,000 Volvo SUV. The organiser of the raffle, Dale Tate, decided to put the house up for grabs having failed to find a buyer.
