Fabio Silva won't be returning to Rangers after the summer, according to reports. The Portuguese arrived in January on loan from Wolves until the end of the season.
Rivals Celtic had shown some interest in the former Benfica man, but Philippe Clement ultimately won the race for his signature to bring him to Ibrox in order to boost his Rangers revival.
But now reports in Portugal claim that Silva will head back to Wolves when his loan spell ends, as planned. Given the Molineux club signed Silva for a whopping £34million in 2020, a permanent switch this summer was never really a realistic possibility given the fee and wages that would be required.
However, with his contract in at the Premier League outfit due to expire in 2025, his longer-term future remains up in the air and another loan could be on the cards if Gary O'Neil isn't prepared to give him a chance next term.Silva has scored four times in 19appearances for Rangers, but has managed no assists so far.
