Jermaine Jenas has opened up about the moment he had to tell his wife of 13 years, Ellie, that he'd been sacked from the BBC.The former Premier League star initially kept the truth from his wife after accusations surfaced of him sending inappropriate messages, hoping to resolve the situation before involving his family.
However, just five days after the first accusation, Jenas was fired via a video call while on holiday with his wife and their three children.
Despite the allegations, The One Show star Jermaine maintains that both parties involved were consenting adults. His wife Ellie was initially unaware of the situation until she suspected something was amiss when her husband didn't head off to work on The One Show as usual.
He confessed that he initially thought he would be suspended, but instead, he was let go. "I had to tell her by Monday evening because I knew then that I'd been fired," he shared with The Sun, adding, "I just said, 'I've been sacked from the BBC'," reports the Daily Star.
