Bolton Wanderers boss leaves the club eighth in League One and two points from the play-offs. According to early odds from bookmakers BetVictor, former Sunderland boss Gus Poyet and ex-Huddersfield Town manager Danny Cowley are among the two early favourites for the job with odds of 11/8 and 11/4 respectively.
But ex-Latics boss Cook, who left his post as Wigan manager at the end of July, is third on the list at present with odds of 4/1.
