Scots businessman says the only reason he is still alive today is because he was handed an 11-year prison sentence. Darren Wright was part of a hooded gang who stormed Javed Mukhtar ’s Glasgow home at gunpoint in September 2006, held him captive for 25 days hooded and in handcuffs, and demanded £2.5million for his safe return.
Mr Mukhtar, then aged 58, was in his bungalow in Crossmyloof, Glasgow with his wife, three sons and daughter-in-law when Darren Wright and Peter Haining burst in with handguns.
